personally after reviewing hallomik's quotes of Linsey i am not expecting anything good from this update the best i am expecting is dye storage and making the belt pouch hold 10 instead of 5 and that's it. it was foolish of me to think other wise.

The Monument of Valor is meant to have "prestige" weapons, not "any weapon I use." However, from Linsey a while back:

Zodiac is only missing a spear and scythe though, isn't it? Surely those wouldn't be the hardest things to program? I suggested a few months ago basically making a new type of zodiac weapon, basically bigger or with a different colour scheme or throwing a few extra gems on them, and calling them greater zodiac weapons which are inscribable and from a collector in exchange for something gained from doing the elite faction missions, say 30 Urgoz gems and 30 Deep gems per weapon, might be an idea. But then that might be an awful lot of effort. As it would mean reskinning existing weapons, adding 2 new ones, adding a collector and adding some form of collectable drop from the end chest. Also to answer the IP, as mostly green weapons arent in set format and their is way too many to even start considering what could be added and what shouldn't. -- Salome 22:33, 25 September 2008 (UTC)
75.172.44.33: from dictionary.com "prestige: reputation or influence arising from success, achievement, rank, or other favorable attributes." It's not a stretch that prestige in games would be equated with rarity which in most games comes hand in hand with expense. The reason we can't use generic green weapons is because there are hundreds of them.
Salome: Getting a Zodiac Spear and Scythe isn't about the programming. I don't want to do a major overhaul of the rewards in The Deep and Urgoz. With a few tweaks it should reinforce the existing system. Also, getting the kind of art resources you guys keep talking about is difficult. If I got that kind of art time, I would rather use it for something bigger and new instead of making changes to these areas. - Linsey talk 22:41, 25 September 2008 (UTC)

Heh, I don't expect it, just that it would be nice.

When replying to a discussion about Spawning Power on her talk page, Linsey said,

Heh thanks. I'm trying to keep up with my wiki and I'm really strict with myself about reading all of a discussion before responding (usually reading it a couple times by the time I respond), but man I do not look forward to reading this lol. You won't mind if I don't read it, do you? I'll just keep in mind that spawning power might like to get looked at. - Image:User Linsey Murdock sig.jpgLinsey talk 03:41, 8 March 2009 (UTC)
Yeah... It's not that Linsey's one of my most disliked devs of all time or something but the lack of enthusiasm in this post (along with the ham-fisted way of doing skill balances lately. Read: "All your non-____ skills are disabled for 10 seconds.") just leads me to believe that maybe they just can't balance a hybrid (healer/buffer) / summoner class.

If that's the case, it's off to WoW for me!

Add a "Personal Closet" tab to the storage.

This would allow each character to keep their armor sets separate, and end clutter in storage.

As with the post earlier, build updates count for the WHOLE month of whatever they say. I think this leverage use by Anet started being applied around the release of NF (can't remember).

So, yes, this thread came way too early. And I question how they will be able to do any of the few things they mentioned. Anet has been dealing with storage since GW was released, and has previously stated that it would cost too much for new servers just for in-game storage. What makes anyone think they'll be able to do it now that they only have 4 (around that I believe) people working on GW1 while everyone else is on GW2? Most likely they'll have some roundabout "patch" like the festival hat guy.

On another note, is it me or does Linsey sound frustrated? It's obvious that the stress of dealing with the fans griping about GW2/the April GW patch, and programming for the April patch is frying her nerves. I'll bet alot of the Anet staff feels the same way, but we wouldn't know due to the anonymity...

Sure as long as they don't call it "Personal Closet".

shoyon, you might be on to something regarding a roundabout festival hat guy being recoded to armor guy -- you buy/craft an armor piece or set normally, show it to the guy, and it's unlocked. Then you trash it. That would seem to be much more server space-conserving than having extra storage space that would have to save your insignias, runes, dye combos, etc. Of course we'd all prefer the latter......

edit: that however isn't really a good answer. It only works for those who use one suit and just want to fill their HoM, but doesn't work for people who really want multiple suits the same way people use multiple builds and bars.

also it would be nice to see spawning power more on par with soul reaping, divine favor, expertise, etc.

I see dark times about to unfold with Anet. April update looks more and more unimpressive. I understand their project sounded blain to start, but seeing how 2 month latter, and no new information has come out, i can only think it nothing really to brag about. It was known months in advance what was going on with the title update from Linsey talk page. Now we know same amount of information as we do in January. Except we know what can't be done with Linsey's faq. Couple this with this the 2 year anniversary of the vaporware announcement, I really wonder how many really can side with them anymore.

honestly id be amazed if anet actually put out a statement about their thoughts on it.

but im guessing since they added the +2% duration on weapon spells that they think they did a super job and nothing else needs to be done.

Lol @ Linsey's statement.

This means all we'll probably get is another storage tab, as opposed to something useful.

I couldn't care less about extra storage.

It's not even on my "What I would like to see changed list" because I don't have a storage problem. And seems many others feel the same...
